The Revenue Recovery Specialist will support, and report to the Manager, Revenue Recovery. The Specialist will be responsible for researching and analyzing accounts for assigned clients and payers to diagnose reasons for under payment or non payment of claims. The Specialist will evaluate appropriate action needed to correct the account, complete the correction or omission on the account, maintain tracking of all identified issues and errors, and follow-up to collect the outstanding funds. Reasons for under payment may include omission of applicable charges or underpayment for service rendered as compared to the contractual rate. Duties include ascertaining trends that emerge during account review, and developing strategies to correct and collect on accounts. The Revenue Recovery Specialist will also develop strong working relationships with the assigned client and team members. The Specialist work reports as assigned by leadership.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor degree in a related field, strongly preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years experience in the hospital insurance industry, required. Keen understanding of the revenue cycle and opportunity for uncollected revenue required.

Licenses/Certificates: Must pass the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) examination offered through the Healthcare Financial Management Association within 6 months of license issuance at time of hire, unless already certified. Must pass the Certified Specialist Managed Care examination offered through the Healthcare Financial Management Association within 6 months of license issuance upon achievement of CRCR, unless already certified.
