Works to maintain appropriate staffing levels by obtaining coverage and/or registering patients as needed. Assists Manager with staff schedule and 'on-call', taking calls from staff and other departments.  Displays problem-solving skills.  Promotes customer satisfaction.

Keeps employees informed of payer regulation changes as well as changes within the department and the hospital.  Maintains open communication lines with ancillary departments, registration staff, Pt Financial Services.  Facilitates instructional and informational meetings for the department on a regular basis.

Provides training to new employees on all systems, i.e.; ADT (Star), Scheduling, Telephones, Verification (HTP), and Compliance Checker (ABN).  Evaluates new employees during training and probation period.  Assists in the evaluation of employees on a regular basis by providing documentation and observations to the Manager to be placed in the employee file.  Maintains a comprehensive training manual.

Oversee Point of Service collection process and work with staff to improve presentation skills and the outcome of their efforts.  Ensure that staff inform patients of their ability to obtain financial assistance and provide access to that service.

Qualifications - Minimum

  • 2+ years of experience in a Patient Access or Healthcare Leadership role required
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) and or CRCR, Certified Revenue Cycle Representative required within 90 days of hire
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification required
  • EPIC experience required

Shift and Job Schedule

Full-time at 40 hours per week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position requires flexibility as well as an on call requirement.
